Are you considering launching a freelance career? Perhaps you may wonder if this is the year to take that leap and leave your traditional job. Or, you may not know exactly what to consider to see if the time is right. Only you can determine if now is the time to begin your freelancing career. Here are some factors to consider from my own experience as a successful full-time freelancer.

What Should I Consider Before Launching a Freelancing Career?

Many people have successfully launched freelance careers in a wide variety of specialties — and many others have failed. Before you quit your day job, consider some relevant factors that will have a long-term impact on your freelancing efforts and goals.

The Economy

Popular freelancing site Fiverr Business published the results of a survey they conducted with over 1,000 business owners of varying sizes and revenue. The results show that traditional businesses may be facing economic challenges but these challenges are creating new opportunities for freelancers.

“It’s encouraging to see that savvy business leaders are turning to freelancers in order to fill any talent gaps in their workforce to avoid things such as burnout and reduced productivity.” Shany Malbin, Fiverr Business General Manager
